The Day I Realised I Was Enough
There was a time in my life when I truly believed I wasn't enough.
No matter how much love I received...
No matter how kind someone was...
No matter how often they reassured me...
I couldn't believe it.
Deep down, I had already decided that I wasn't worthy.
Looking back now, I realise something that completely changed my life.
The problem wasn't a lack of love.
The problem was the story I believed about myself.
When We See Ourselves Through Old Beliefs
Have you ever loved someone deeply, yet quietly wondered if they deserved someone better?
Perhaps you've compared yourself to them.
Their confidence.
Their success.
Their intelligence.
Their appearance.
Without realising it, you slowly begin placing yourself beneath them.
You stop seeing yourself as their equal.
Instead, you begin measuring everything you think you're not.
That was my experience.
And it was incredibly painful.
The Story I Believed
I spent years believing I wasn't worthy of the person I loved.
Not because they ever made me feel that way.
In fact, they were caring, supportive and deeply loving.
The belief didn't come from them.
It came from me.
It was a story I had carried for years without even knowing it.
Every compliment was questioned.
Every act of love was met with disbelief.
Every beautiful moment was overshadowed by one quiet thought...
"One day they'll realise I'm not enough."
That belief coloured everything.
Love Was Never the Problem
One of the greatest lessons I learned is that other people can't heal the beliefs we refuse to question.
Someone can love you completely.
They can tell you how wonderful you are.
They can see your beauty long before you do.
But if you don't believe it yourself...
You'll struggle to receive it.
Not because they aren't sincere.
But because your beliefs become the lens through which you experience every relationship.
The Moment Everything Changed
Healing didn't begin when someone finally convinced me I was enough.
Healing began when I stopped arguing with love.
When I began questioning the story instead of accepting it.
What if I wasn't broken?
What if I wasn't lacking?
What if I had simply believed something that was never true?
That question changed everything.
Because little by little, I began to see myself differently.
Not through fear.
But through love.
You Have Always Been Enough
One of the greatest illusions we carry is that we must become worthy.
Become more successful.
More attractive.
More confident.
More spiritual.
More accomplished.
But what if worthiness has never been something you earn?
What if it's simply something you remember?
You were never asked to become enough.
You already are.
The journey is simply about letting go of everything that convinced you otherwise.
Final Thoughts
If there's one thing I hope you take from this, it's that healing doesn't always look like becoming someone new.
Sometimes, it looks like returning to who you were before the doubt began.
Before the comparison.
Before the fear.
Before the story that told you you were less.
You don't need to earn your place in love, in life, or in belonging.
You already have it.
And maybe, just maybe, the most powerful step you can take from here is to stop questioning your worth—and start living as if you've always had it.
A Gentle Reflection
Today, I'd love to leave you with this simple reminder.
Place your hand gently over your heart.
Take a slow breath.
Then quietly say to yourself:
I am enough.
Just as I am.
Not because you've achieved more.
Not because you've proved yourself.
But because your worth has never depended on any of those things.
You've always been enough.
You've always been worthy of love.
And perhaps today is the day you finally begin believing it.
